Do I Need a Referral?
If you’ve never taken your child to the dentist before, or if you’ve already seen a general family dentist, you might wonder whether or not you need a referral for your child to be seen by the specialists at Denali Pediatric Dentistry.
No Referrals are Necessary
The answer is no. Anyone can come to Denali Pediatric Dentistry for care, as long as they are no older than 17 years of age. We welcome new patients, patients referred to us by their current dentist, and their families! If you have questions about whether or not your insurance company needs information prior to you visiting our office, please call one of our financial coordinators.
Some patients are referred by their dentist to a pediatric dentist if the child needs care that the general dentist is not equipped to provide. Or, the child may have severe anxiety or behavioral needs that prevent them from being cared for in a traditional dental office. This is their previous dentist’s formal way of handing the child off to another care provider for their oral health needs. Denali Pediatric Dentistry offers specialist care that can handle any type of challenge when it comes to treating the smiles of younger patients.
Even if your child is currently seeing another dentist for their care, they are welcome to visit us at Denali Pediatric Dentistry for routine care, specific treatments, or a second opinion. No referrals needed!
